Libera - Sanctus

On the topic of the castrati, I figured I would share this with everybody.

There's definitely a reason that a young boy's voice is cherished, and this song is a prime example of that. For those who believe that a boy's voice isn't beautiful -- This is definitely a trying argument.

But was it really worth it for the boys that had to go through castration to retain such a voice? It's true that their voices are amazing and quite impressive, but I don't believe that a person should lose their ability to reproduce and their manhood in order to retain such a voice.

Minecraft -- Is it only a video game?

This is something that I stumbled on a while back.

I'm not an extreme gamer, but I do know of the game Minecraft and what the possibilities are. From my understanding it's a game that you have the ability to do nearly whatever you want in. People have gone as far as creating games inside of this game for others to enjoy. Though it's extremely advanced with its abilities, it's graphics are sub par. Until you see what people have learned to do with them.

In Minecraft, it's all about pixels. Everything is pixelated -- it's just the style of the game.
There are two different modes to this game: survival and creative.

I'm going to focus on the creative side, as many people have made this a true and probably unappreciated art.

These are just four images from an entire album of photographs of this miraculous city. Through what looks like a simple game this beautiful work of art was born.

The creators of the city, dubbed "High Rossferry City", had this to say about it: "We've been working on it of and on for 19 months now. With just 2 people. We're inspired by great artists. From Van Gogh to Mondriaan. And architects like Mies van der Rohe and Rietveld. There are many references to art, science, music and movies, all over the city."

While many will only use this game for fun on the side, these two people chose to take it in a different route and create a city that anybody would dream to live in.

You can find the entire city here.

Dubai Fireworks - $30 Million Dollars.

In Dubai, at a celebration, they spent over thirty million dollars on a single 10 minute show. The video was amazing, but I found myself enjoying the music rather than the fireworks on the screen.

Fireworks tend to be a form of art that's explosive and makes an impact (especially if you're too close). I find it a little hard to believe that they're able to spend $30 million on fireworks when there's larger problems there.

"Hey, wanna go solve world hunger?"
"Nah, I wanna blow some stuff up."

Granted, my answer would be to set some things on fire as well, but come on government. Don't they have a little say in what's going on?

Am I that Caffeine Dependant? Yep.

My name is Eric, and I'm currently in a class that takes a lot more brain power than I have in the morning. I'm hoping by the good graces of caffeinated beverages and sheer willpower that I'll be able to make it through in the morning.

I'm a full time staff member at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay where I am the Lead Adoption Counselor/Supervisor. At age 20, I find that to be quite an accomplishment in my life. I am originally from Minnesota, and one of the few natural blondes on campus thanks to my Scandinavian roots (literally).

I hope to grasp a better understanding throughout this class on how technology can truly tie into art other than the obvious forms like social media and sharing it through Google Images (never Bing).

I look forward to the class, even if I'm not 100% awake. As I said, caffeine is a friend.

Too many questions.

1)   What is your business?
We adopt animals.
2)   Describe your business in one sentence.
We adopt animals.
3)   Who is your target audience?
A range of an audience from children to old people, but you have to be at least 18 to adopt.
4)   Who are your competitors?
      Sarah Mclaughlin.
5)   What makes them better/worse than your product/service?
She has money to make really sad and disgusting commercials. Unlike her animals, ours are actually happy!
6)   Do you currently have an identity?
      We adopt animals...?
7)    What do you like about it and what don’t you like about it?
The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is known for our extremely clean facility, and our Adoption Staff is pretty well known and liked for our customer service. We don't have many competitors in the field, as we are the only No-Kill facility in the area.
These following questions might seem silly, but their purpose is to help generate ideas.
1)   How do you want your image to be seen in two years?
I know we want a completely new facility, or at least be building a new facility. We're already widely known in the community as stated above, but getting more recognition would be a great thing. We've had news articles nationally on some kittens we saved from a car engine recently.
2)   If your company was an animal, what animal would it be and why?
Well, it is an ANIMAL adoption facility, so... eh.
3)   If your company/brand was a person, who would it be and why?
Angelina Jolie, we take in so many fur babies that it's starting to become alien to society.
4)   If your company/brand was an object, what would it be?
It would probably be a dog or cat figurine. For reasons quite obvious.
5)   If your customer was a cartoon character, who would it be?
Cookie Monster, we love sweets, and we're under appreciated for our hard work. "Congratulations on your adoption, ma'am!.... Oh, she's already in the parking lot, damn near sprinting. Perfect."
