In Dubai, at a celebration, they spent over thirty million dollars on a single 10 minute show. The video was amazing, but I found myself enjoying the music rather than the fireworks on the screen.
Fireworks tend to be a form of art that's explosive and makes an impact (especially if you're too close). I find it a little hard to believe that they're able to spend $30 million on fireworks when there's larger problems there.
"Hey, wanna go solve world hunger?"
"Nah, I wanna blow some stuff up."
Granted, my answer would be to set some things on fire as well, but come on government. Don't they have a little say in what's going on?
